She’s dark
But mostly sunlight,
The full moon
On a black night,
A lit soul
That burns bright
After her wings are charred.

Discarded what
She couldn’t use,
Won what she was
Supposed to lose,
Lost every friend
She didn’t choose
Until she lost them all.

Now deep within her
Lives a glow
That fills the space once
Left hollow
By pain, regret, and
Lone sorrow
That fail to nail her down.
